RADIONET
Radionet is a crime reduction scheme organised by the Business Improvement District on behalf of retailers and other city centre businesses. Radionet links all of its users across the city centre, by radio, with each other as well as the CCTV unit at the Lancaster Road police station.
Should a member of the scheme be targeted by shoplifters they can immediately inform other members of the risk and also request that CCTV follow the suspect. In this way the number of successful shoplifters and thieves in the city centre are fewer and costs to businesses are reduced.
The Ambassadors are also linked to this system and act as an extra set of eyes for the city’s security teams.

PUBNET
Pubnet is a crime reduction scheme organised by the Business Improvement District for premises in Preston city centre licensed to sell alcohol.
Once a month licensees meet to discuss recent trouble causers in the city and decide between them if these people should be excluded from their premises.
Exclusions can be anything up to twelve months long and currently cover 48 pubs bars and restaurants across the city.
Each premises on the scheme is given information about who is barred, for what reason and until when. If a barred person tries to enter a pub, club or restaurant on the scheme they will be refused entry and an alert will go via radio to every other Pubnet premises as well as the CCTV unit based at the Lancaster Road police station.
Pubnet works to keep Preston city centre safer at night and also to act as a warning and deterrent to anybody planning to cause trouble, carry drugs or generally ruin a good night out for everybody else.
