Delivering the BID
A key element of the BID is to extend the Preston’s daytime economy by creating an early evening vibrancy for the BID area. Whilst the BID area has a good and diverse range of restaurants, pubs, clubs and other entertainment venues for evening activity many of these venues are under utilised during the early evening because of low footfall and a lack of coordinated activity.
The BID campaign will deliver a “Preston Alive After Five” campaign of co-ordinated leisure activity, shopping, and street entertainment specifically designed to increase footfall and improve the vitality of the BID area in the evening. The “Preston Alive After Five” campaign will be developed in collaboration with retailers, restaurants, pubs and clubs and unified through a unique brand.
“Preston Alive After Five” will bring visitors into the city centre during the early evening as well as encouraging city centre workers to stay after work. The campaign will be managed by a Working Group of stakeholders supported by the BID Marketing and Operations Managers
